Like we said in our last post, we have been selling popsicles every Friday for 50 cents each. It has been a huge success and a great way to get some money for the build process. We have also been walking around the car pool line receiving donations. You'd be surprised by the amount of greasy change people have given us the past two weeks. From popsicles and donations, we have raised
Today we divided into 3 different small groups... AGAIN! One group worked on improving the PowerPoint and making corrections. Another group worked on the wind tunnel supply list. The last group worked on preparing the flyers for week 3 of our popsicle fundraiser. Every Friday, we have been selling popsicles for 50 cents each after school and collecting donations. So far, we have made $382.99 in donations and sales the past two weeks. We look forward to our sales this Friday and hope to make our goal of $100 in sales.
This week broke up into small groups. One group worked on improving our "W" design and coming up with new ones. Another group came up with a diagram of how the wind tunnel will work. They had many ideas including fog machines, vacuums, etc. Our final group worked on the power point for businesses. They added pictures to make the power point look more presentable. Although we were in small groups, we still worked together to reach our goals.
Today Mr. Evans, Team USA's mentor, came in to help us get some things accomplished, such as the installation of the floor of our car. He also gave us some important safety tips, such as keeping our hands away from anything you are drilling, or under what you are drilling, keep your drill level, wear safety goggles at all times, and make sure you know what you are drilling. He also gave us some advice on how to use a caliper. We are so grateful for Mr. Evans and the advice he gave us and look forward to the next time he can help us.
